For starters, when you visit Gravity you will be beckoned in by our rows of vineyards and inviting landscape, our #1 goal is to help you taste the vineyard and take it home with you! Rockie and Allison opened Gravity in October 2011
the same weekend their daughter Dylan was born. The farm was purchased from Rockie’s family in 2008. As a kid he helped his family raise apples, peaches, and cherries on the very hills where the vineyards and winery now lie. When the winery opened, Allison “retired” from teaching to work in the family business. Gravity is still very much a family endeavor. You will regularly see all the Rick’s working on the very same hills, only now the focus is great wine!
Meet the Wine Maker
JJ Hischke is originally from Sawyer, MI (about 10 minutes from the winery). He started at Gravity in 2011 helping with construction of the tasting room along with various other jobs. Over the years he has studied wine making and grape growing, and now oversees production on all of our wonderful wines and ciders. JJ now lives in Buchanan, MI (also about 10 minutes from the winery) with his wife Mandy and their two dogs.
Our vineyards are located right here on the property, so you will get to see what you taste!
Our Tasting Consultants will guide you through our diverse selection of wines and ciders which are all made on site. You will have the opportunity to sample up to 6 products all for only $15, which will be refunded with every 4 bottle purchase.

We have a modern tasting room, a massive covered deck overlooking our private lake, and expansive outdoor lawn area... all of this for you to sit and relax with a glass or bottle of your favorite vintage!

At our downtown location you get a different feel… making us a nice spot for a break while shopping, beaching or eating. Same wines as our Southern Baroda Winery location but just tastings of wine and cider of your choice (no wine by the glass or open bottles).
